2018 in Summary 

Early in the year we all sections when to visit the Temora air museum and see the war birds flying it was a great day out.
Later on it 2018 we when hiking with different sections.

2017 in Summary 

The Year started  with 10 of our cubs heading off to Sydney to take part in the NSW Cuboree at Cataract Park

May 2016 Yass Scouts and Cubs met up with Gunning Scouts for JOTT

Over the weekend - Yass and Gunning headed off to Morton National Park at Bundanoon for a Weekend of hiking adventures.

​After setting up the came site we headed off to on the coal mine walk to explore the historical site.

​That night we went down the muddy track to see the glow worms. It was amazing. Even after we had to rescue one shoe from the mud.
​
​The morning we packed out lunch and headed off to the waterfall.
​




November 2016 - We headed off on Daniel's Green Journey 

Over the weekend - Yass Scouts headed off to Mundooran Reserve for a Weekend of hiking adventures.

The first night we spent by the fire dam learning about emergency shelter building and navigation skills.

Then we were off first thing in the morning, up the hills and  along the ridge lines to find scrubby flat for our second night of camping.

Yass at District Canoeing Camp at Blowering Dam via Tumut

On Saturday 22 March 2014 - 1st Yass Scout Section headed off for a weekend of camping and canoeing with Scouts from Tumut, Gundagai, Wagga Wagga  and Canberra groups.

This camp was to celebrate Founders day  BP birthday

The kids developed new skills in canoeing and took part in canoeing soccer on the dam.

We enjoyed lunch on the bank of the dam before heading back to camp and home, on Sunday 23 March 2014.

Yass Scouts head off to the Blue Mountains for some hiking, camping and a cave walk
On Saturday 12 April 2014 - 1st Yass Scout Section headed off to the Blue Mountains for a hike along the Six Foot Track from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves.
The first night we camp at Katoomba and walked around the echo point to have a look at the

The kids developed stronger navigation skills and new skills in hiking, equipment and food.

We enjoyed 3 nights of camping before arriving at Jenolan caves. and home, on Wednesday  16 April 2014.

2015 Yass Scouts went Caving at Bungonia

Over the weekend - 1st Yass Scout Section headed off to Bungonia Nature Reserve to going caving with the ACT Rock Team.

On the Saturday, we spend several hours exploring Grill cave.

We learnt about safety in the caves including how to use a lighter or match to check that the air levels are safe from high levels of carbon dioxide.

We also had the opportunity to meet new friends for other ACT groups.

Yass Scouts at New Zealand Jamboree 2013 - 2014

Yass Scouts at Jamborette 2013

Just a bit of our Jamboree adventuring
In October 2013, Yass Scouts took part in the South coast and Tablelands Regional Jamborette, not far from Wollongong NSW.

This was 3 days of camping and fun activities including climbing, swimming and archery.

After the Jamborette, we headed down to the beach at Wollongong for a swim, before heading home.



Over 12 days, five members of our 1st Yass Scout Group took part in many activities at the Jamboree

All enjoyed a day of sightseeing in Wellington NZ, before heading up to Feilding for the Jamboree

There were lots of Muddy activities to get involved with onsite .

There was some fun building chariots and catapults
Braeden and Ryan got to go out canoeing and rafting.
Cheyene and Sarah were on survivor, which included three caving activities at Piripiri Caves

We were also part of a Guinness World record for the number of people wearing a paper hat.

We made lots of new friends and look forward to seeing them at the Australian Jamboree in 2015/16
